CPF Patrollers & S1 Call Centre Operators

Our Patrollers and Call Centre Operators assist our community in numerous different ways.  We work in close cooperation with the South African Police Service, Security Companies and Emergence services to make our suburbs safer.  At Wierdabrug CPF Sector 1 you will receive training that will enable you to conduct these activities.
Most of our current members are both qualified Patrollers and qualified Call Centre Operators.

Patroller Training

The Patroller Training* consists of:

– 2 x theory training sessions

– 4 x 2 hour Training Patrols with various Senior Patrollers that we will help organise.

– You will have 8 weeks to complete the training.

Training Patrols take effect immediately after the first theoretical lectures and you should be mobile in about 4 to 5 weeks as a patroller.

At the end of your training, we will hold a New Recruits ceremony, where you will get a certificate of completion. You will also be given a CPF jacket, car decals and a CPF ID card at a cost of R300 – these items are for your account, but is partly subsidised by the CPF.

Radios are useful, but not compulsory, and can be considered at a cost of R750, which includes the registration and tuning of the radio.

*New members with previous experience will be given ‘Recognition for Prior Learning’.

Further Patroller Training

From time to time opportunities will arise for further training. Although this is not compulsory we strongly recommend that our patrollers make use of these opportunities if and when possible.

S1 Call Centre Operator Training

S1 Call center operator training happens on a 1 to 1 basis to cover theory and then you will also do a practical with patrollers to see the other side of the phone /radio as well as some shifts shadowing an active S1 until you are ready to commence duty.

At the end of your training, we will hold a new Recruits ceremony, where you will get a certificate of completion.
